Care and Maintenance Instructions

Brass finish boxes

Your box is made from solid brass this includes the hinge pins. It is coated on the out side with a clear polymer to keep it shiny. On the inside it is coated with a white acrylic polymer.

Over time it is likely that the clear coating on the outside will wear with use, to keep the box shiny you can use normal household brass cleaners and finish off with a hard wax polish. Alternatively you can just let you box age gracefully and develop a lovely patina.

To keep the white mixing surfaces clean simply wash them down using a little household dishwashing liquid and warm water with a soft cloth. The white paint will age over time as it is scratched by the brush hairs, however you should find that they will just clean using this method.

Make sure after you have cleaned the box with a lot of water that you dry it with paper towels and let it fully dry before packing it away.

The standard hinge pins have been changed for a smaller diameter pin to allow easy cleaning and lubrication it is recommended that you occasionally lubricate the hinges with a light oil like "3in1 oil"
